Luke Ward-Wilkinson was born on 7 August 1993 in Cambridge England. He attended The Netherhall School and Parkside Community College in Cambridge and also went to the Mackenzie School of Speech and Drama, as well as the King Slocombe School of Dance. He has also belonged to the Young Actors Company (previously known as Whizz Kids).

Luke was a talented young ballet dancer along with his older brother and sisters. ?I was in Sleeping Beauty for the Royal Ballet with Darcey Bussell,? Luke says, ?That was the first time I ever stepped on a stage... at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden! But I think when I was very young I had quite a fanatical obsession with TV and film. I went and got myself signed to an extras agency when I was about eight or nine and was in various small productions around the country. My first real job was as the role of "Scott" in The Secret of Eel Island which was shown on Milkshake (2005). After that I got into the swing of it and loved it."

He is best known for his lead role as the teenage Simon Doonan in the BBC comedy series Beautiful People which ran for 2 seasons (2008?2009) on BBC Two. ?Beautiful People was a wonderful comedy in which I played a camp and eccentric boy who is coming to terms with his life.? Luke reckons his youthful ballet helped with the physicality of that series and also with the rigours of his current role in Lord of the Flies.

Luke also played Evan Adams in the ITV drama series Wild at Heart, Ensign Percival Beauclare in the 2008 ITV drama Sharpe's Peril and Thomas McDowell in The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey.

In 2015, Luke made his return to acting, starring as Ralph in the 2015-16 UK stage play tour of 'Lord of the Flies'. Luke says, ?I was fortunate enough to study it for English GCSE which gave me a huge insight into the book before I got the call to audition. When I got the call I nearly jumped out of my seat. I absolutely adored this book and I still remember one of the questions in my exam: Outline and evaluate the relationship between Ralph and Piggy. I never thought I?d be playing the part of Ralph seven years down the line.?

The book was adapted for the stage 20 years ago by Nigel Williams and was first performed by the Royal Shakespeare Company.
