Ferdia Walsh-Peelo was born October 12, 1999, is an Irish singer, musician and actor. He is best known for playing the lead character Conor "Cosmo" Lalor in the film Sing Street (2016).

Walsh-Peelo attended Coláiste Ráithín, a Gaelscoil in Bray, County Wicklow, a music and drama school in Ireland.

Born in Ashford, County Wicklow, he began his musical career as a boy soprano at the age of seven coached by his mother, soprano Toni Walsh. As a young solo singer he won the under twelve boys solo at Feis Ceoil (RDS), Arklow Music Festival and Kilcoole Music Festival. At 12 years of age Ferdia Walsh-Peelo secured his first professional contract with Ireland's national touring opera, the Opera Theatre Company. He was eventually cast as Amahl, in Amahl and the Night Visitors and Mozart's Magic Flute (2011), which toured Ireland. Followed by the part of Miles in Britten's Turn of the Screw (2012). He has also been a guest soloist with UCD Philharmonic Choir, Inbhear Mor Ladies choir and has sung as a soloist in Wexford Opera House. He has also performed live on RTE'S Pat Kenny Show.

In 2016 Walsh-Peelo made his acting debut in the musical comedy-drama film Sing Street along with Lucy Boynton, directed by John Carney. In the film, Ferdia plays 14-year-old Cosmo who, growing up in 1980s Dublin, falls for a girl in school and asks her to be in his band's music video. The only problem is, he doesn't have a band...yet! He sings and plays guitar and piano, performing live with Sing Street co-star Mark McKenna after the film's showing at the Sundance Festival.

He was signed by William Morris Endeavor in the USA and Independent Talent in the UK in 2015.

Ferdia lives in Ashford with his mum Toni, dad Mick Peelo and siblings Tadhg, Oisin and Siofradh.

A musical family, Toni is a soprano and teaches at her former alma mater, the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama, while Tadgh and Oisin are also talented musicians and the youngest, Siofradh, is learning to play the violin.
