Fraser Patrick Kelly was born on November 30, 2001, in Scunthorpe, England. In 2015, he co-starred alongside Richard Armitage in the drama film I am Urban (Urban & the Shed Crew).

He began his professional career in 2011 in Yerma at the Hull Truck Theatre. He then played Nathan in The Full Monty UK and Ireland Tour between 2013 and 2019. Since then, he has appeared in Doctors (2019) and Deep Cuts (2019).

In 2017, Kelly auditioned for a role in Solo: A Star Wars Story, but was not aware what film he was trying out for at the time. After the audition, he did not think he had landed a role but received communication a few months later that he had been cast. Kelly then researched the film, which was then under the codename "Redcup," and realized it was a part of the Star Wars franchise. Despite being a Star Wars fan when he was younger, he had not seen any films released after Disney bought the franchise from George Lucas in 2012. Kelly opted not to watch the films he had not seen so that he could portray the part in his way. He and his mother traveled to Pinewood Studios to film his speaking role, and in the film's credits, he is listed as "Eager Scrumrat." The film was released in 2018.

"I was a big Star Wars fan when I was younger, but I didn't watch the new ones and to be honest, I didn't want to. I wanted to take the role on in my way and find things out for myself." ― Fraser Kelly

Fraser was in his last year at Frederick Gough School in Scunthorpe during the Star Wars filming and was constantly doing school work on the set as he prepared for his upcoming GCSEs.

While he made room for his studying, even when on the Star Wars set, he gave himself breaks every few hours and rewarded himself -- as well as rewarding the other youngsters involved in the film by taking food from the cafeteria set .
