Peter Miles was born on April 1, 1938 in Tokyo, Japan as Gerald Richard Perreau-Saussine. He was an actor and writer, known for Quo Vadis (1951), Possessed (1947), but is best remembered as Tom in The Red Pony (1949) opposite Robert Mitchum and Myrna Loy.

He is the older brother of Janine Perreau, Lauren Perreau and Gigi Perreau.

Unfortunately he didn't make it as an adult actor. Peter retired from acting and became an appraiser, high school teacher, and novelist. Two of his early novels were twice recipients of the Samuel Goldwyn Creative Writing Awards. One of his books was filmed as That Cold Day in the Park (1969).

He and sister Gigi Perreau played brother and sister on The Betty Hutton Show (1959).

Peter died on August 3, 2002 in Los Angeles, California of cancer.
