Pedrito Fernandez was born on September 28 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico in 1969. His birth name was Jose Martin Cuevas Cobos. In 1979 he made his film debut when producer Ruben Galindo gave him his first oportunity in the production La Nina de la Mochila Azul where he started his career at the age of nine (released when Prdrito was 10). He changed his name to Pedro Fernandez, because of his music idols Pedro Infante and Vicente Fernandez.
Movie after movie came his way, Amigo (1980), the sequel Nina de la Mochila Azul 2 (1981), Coqueta & Los Dos carnales (1983). But he is best known as a ranchera, pop and mariachi artist with 25 LP's in his 20 year music career. With more than 29 Mexican films and soap operas under his belt, Pedro is known for his numerous Latin hits such as "Mi Forma De Sentir" and "La Mujer Que Amas." Latin Grammy Award winner for Best Ranchero Album at the Latin Grammy Awards of 2001 and again in 2003. In May 2006 Pedro performed at the White House during Cinco de Mayo.
He's married to Rebeca, a woman from Reinosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico. They've three children Osmara, Karina and Gema Guadalupe.
