Brandon Edwin Williams was born May 28, 1962 in Bakersfield, California. An icon to 70's television Brandon will be known for his role as Eddie in the 1970's TV series The Courtship of Eddie's Father (1969-1973) working along side Bill Bixby. He got to work again will Bill Bixby in The Incredible Hulk (1978).

Other Tv series for Brandon during the 70's was Gunsmoke (1972), Kung Fu (1972) and Police Story (1974). His only big screen appearance as a child was in The Bad News Bears (1976) playing the part of Joey Turner.

When asked about his on-and off-screen chemistry with Bill Bixby in "The Courtship of Eddie's Father", he said: "Well, when you're around the guy known as 'the nicest guy' in showbusiness. You learn a lot and you're in awe, an awful lot of the time. Bill was such a professional, such a giving actor, and caring person that it didn't even seem like work. It seemed like I was hanging out with my best friend. It was corny, but he was so wonderful to work with, you could not pay anybody to say a bad word about Bill. He was giving to a fault, basically."

When Cruz grew up, he turned into a punk drummer, briefly replacing Jello Biafra in "The Dead Kennedys" before joining L.A. punk bands "Dr. Know" and "Harmful If Swallowed". In 1993, Cruz got the idea to record a punk version of The Courtship theme after reading that songwriter Harry Nilsson had suffered a heart attack. He called Nilsson in the hospital - his first contact with him in 20 years - to wish him well... and then asked if Harry would like to record with him. Harry agreed. According to Cruz, Harry showed up at the studio two weeks later "ready to go," and they recorded a ragged, 36 second version of "Best Friend."

He now produces and edits television shows in Los Angeles and still sings with his original band, "Dr. Know".
