?Born in a trunk? would be an apt description of the earthly debut of Sam Huntington. April 1, 1982 was the date, and the location was Peterborough , NH . His great uncle is Ralph Bellamy, his mother was an actress, and owner of a children?s theater called The Black Box. There, young Sam made several appearances on that stage and he apparently loved it.

By the age of nine, professional theater was Sam?s next hurdle to conquer, and the venue was the prestigious Peterborough Players Theater. He tackled a number of challenging roles over the course of four seasons there - including the part of ?Jem? in To Kill a Mockingbird.

In 1995, Sam and his mother decided he deserved a try at the big-time, and they moved to NYC. There he attended the legendary Professional Children?s School, whose alumni included Luke Halpin and Patty Duke. Sam booked a very long string of television commercials almost immediately, before the first big feature film break came his way.

Walt Disney was looking to do a remake of the successful French film Little Indian, Big City (1994) -- this time starring TV comic Tim Allen and to be called Jungle2Jungle. After interviewing hundreds of candidates, fifteen-year-old Sam was chosen to fill the skimpy loincloth that would give the world its first real exposure to this sweet-faced young actor with the perfect jungle-boy physique. Sam would also display an almost supernatural ability to hold his own in scenes opposite the scenery-chewing antics of Tim Allen, Martin Short, and Lolita Davidovitch.

After Jungle2Jungle (1997), Sam decided to return to his beloved New Hampshire to attend regular high school. Firmly grounded in reality, he wasn?t particularly enthralled with his nearly-naked images appearing in a gaggle of fan magazines. So he wisely used this time to reconnect with his roots, and wait for the next interesting film offer to roll in.

That came with Detroit Rock City (1999), a rollicking ensemble comedy about a rowdy bunch of teenage buddies determined to get into a sold-out Kiss concert. Reviews were good both for the film and Sam, and he moved on quickly to more four more funny pictures. One a year - they were Not Another Teen Comedy (2001), Rolling Kansas (2003), Sleepover (2004), and Home Of Phobia (2004). None were major hits, but they all did good enough box-office numbers and established Sam as a hard working, dependable, and much more than competent young actor.

Somehow during all this work and success, he also managed to finish college as well. And thanks to his respected resume and reputation, he finally got his first big break as an adult actor in 2006 - when Brian Singer cast him as Jimmy Olsen in the highly anticipated Superman Returns (2006).

Today young Mr. Huntington is a married man, undoubtedly breaking lots of hearts when he tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend Rachel Klein, also in 2006. Then after a romantic honeymoon in Tahiti , it was right back to work for Sam. You can catch him in the TV series Caveman (2007). His next expected film release is Fanboys (2008), and there are surely many more exciting movies to come from this truly talented young actor.
